Cambodia is preparing to host the prestigious Gumball 3000 rally from September 15-17, 2024, marking its 25th anniversary with a star-studded line-up and a spectacular showcase of luxury cars. The rally, known for its high-profile participants, will pass through Phnom Penh and Siem Reap before heading to Thailand. This year’s event will feature global celebrities like former football star Patrice Evra, YouTubers Lazarbeam, Lachlan, and US streamer IShowSpeed, driving iconic vehicles such as the Rolls Royce Cullinan and Lamborghini Huracan. The grand finale on September 17 will see an attempt to break a Guinness World Record for the most supercars gathered at the historic Angkor Wat temple. “The rally is not just about luxury cars but also supports charitable causes, including raising funds for the Angkor Children’s Hospital and building a floating soccer field in Kampong Khleang,”said Kuch Pannhasa, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Tourism. Malaysian motorsport legend Leona Chin, who recently attended the Rev Up Cambodia pre-event, praised the Kingdom’s hospitality and passion for car culture. “My trip to Cambodia was unforgettable,” she said, recalling the thrilling display of supercars at Siem Reap’s old airport. The rally promises to boost Cambodia’s tourism and investment opportunities. “We are involving local communities to benefit from the event,” Pannhasa added, emphasizing the event’s role in promoting Cambodia as a safe, luxury destination. Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Prime Minister Hun Manet endorsed the rally, calling it “a catalyst for showcasing Cambodia’s prestige and potential to the world.”
